June 26, 2011 Edition of Overdrive
Brought to you by the good people at CWC and by the good people at the Sofia Vergara Admiration Society. There's some good work going on there.

Rose Lemieux is seen entering the arena when she is headed off by a distressed Ray Dees.

Ray Dees - I swear I was nowhere near your house, Rose.

Rose Lemieux - I know you weren't. I checked it out with the authorities.

Ray Dees - And Facebook, my status was about me loving Wal Mart and I would never say that if I wasn't actually at Wal Mart at the time.

Rose Lemieux - Just settle down. If you agree to stop being a creep, then this thing between us is done.

Ray Dees - You'd lift the restraining order?

Rose Lemieux - Just stay cool or it goes right back into place. I have other more pressing matters to deal with right now.

She heads off and Ray actually smiles before we hear "Benzin" by Rammstein and we see images of Moose, Slim Pickens, Michael Anthony, Unrated, Vesuvius, Nameless and Rose Lemieux before we head to ringside where Ricky Simms and Henry Lesher are all set to call tonight's action.

From out of the crowd, a man wearing a faded "Korn" t-shirt and baggy, well loved blue jeans, hops the rail and rolls himself into the ring. Security, who failed to stop him in the first place, surrounds the ring and orders this young man to exit who just smiles back at them.

Ricky Simms - What's going on? Why is this guy in the ring?

Henry Lesher - Because security failed, AGAIN!

The young man produces a microphone from his back pocket and smirks. He taps it with his fingers and, much to the surprise of everyone, it's a live mic.

Ricky Simms - How did he get that?

Henry Lesher - EBay?

Young man - Hello boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen! And you too, old man Pickens! The Future has arrived here in the CWA and it's name is Silas Brueck. I can tell by some of the slack-jawed expressions on some of the faces in the crowd that nobody was expecting me. And that's alright by me. I have come here tonight not to claim I am the next big Champ. Not to claim I am the best at what I do. No, that will be proven in time. I am here tonight to throw my hat into the Summer Sanitarium match. It will be my first step on the path to Power and Glory. Mark my words..... Silas Brueck will be a household name in short time. Now, if you would excuse me, I do believe I am parked in a handicapped spot....

Silas drops the mic and exits the ring and into the waiting throng of security. Without incident, he is escorted to the back.

Ricky Simms - Well, he certainly is confident.

Henry Lesher - He knows he is working to slack-jawed yokels. He is smarter than most in this company.

Myst is seen standing in the parking lot outside the arena when she is approached by Jordan Gibson.

Jordan Gibson - The match has been signed, but no one knows what you're doing here. There has been no sign of Rated R in a CWA ring since Battle of the Warriors in January.

Myst - I told you to make the match happen and I will get you something that blows the roof off of this place.

Jordan Gibson - But how? He didn't sign the contract. As far as anyone knows, he has no intention of even being there.

Myst - You did your part. I am not giving you anymore information. You know what you need to know.

Jordan Gibson - Fine, I just figured.... oh forget it.

Jordan exits and we head back to the ring.

Nameless vs. Unrated

"Break" by Three Days Grace plays as Jeremy Todd and Anthony Lawrence make their way onto the stage. The crowd boos them and they feign hurt feelings over this before they then run down the ramp to ringside and both slide under the bottom rope into the ring. They jump to their feet, high five one another and then look towards the stage as their music fades and we hear "If You Want Peace... Prepare For War" by Children of Bodom and the crowd actually cheers as The Nameless makes his way onto the stage for the first time in a great while. He stands on the stage and looks down on the team he plans to victimize inside the ring. He slowly makes his way down the ramp to ringside and then stops to look out at the crowd for a moment.

Ricky Simms - Emily chooses not to be here tonight as she fears for the amount of violence Nameless will visit upon his unpopular opponents tonight.

Henry Lesher - They have a nice mix of courage and self-delusion these two. I admire that and wish I had known them better before this monster was unleashed upon them.

Nameless pulls himself onto the ring apron and glares at both men inside the ring. Jeremy and Anthony then start arguing over who is going to start this match while the crowd starts an unlikely chant for Nameless. This indicates the strength of the audience's dislike for Unrated. Jeremy Todd and Anthony Lawrence play a game of paper, rock, scissors and when paper covers rock, this means Anthony Lawrence gets to start the match. Jeremy Todd scurries out onto the ring apron in their corner and tries to shout reassuring words to his partner. Nameless steps through the ropes into the ring and the referee calls for the bell. Anthony then charges at Nameless and lands a series of kicks and punches on the hall of fame legend. Nameless then shoves Lawrence to the mat and then stands on his back, while Anthony Lawrence lies face down and screams in pain. Jeremy Todd climbs the ropes behind Nameless and then leaps. Nameless catches Jeremy by the throat in mid-air and gives him a choke slam to the mat which draws loud cheers from the crowd.

Ricky Simms - Nameless looks to be as brutal as ever in there.

Henry Lesher - You expected anything less, Rick?

Nameless then stands Jeremy up and whips him over the top rope and out to the floor. He then turns back to Anthony Lawrence and pulls him to his feet. Lawrence thumbs Nameless in the eye and then kicks him in the gut before he goes for a DDT on the monster. Nameless instead gives Lawrence a cradle suplex to the mat. Nameless then gets to his feet and stands over Anthony Lawrence and shakes his head. He then rolls himself out of the ring in pursuit of Jeremy Todd. Jeremy starts to run when he sees the big man coming for him. He tries signaling for a timeout to no avail. Nameless chases Jeremy while Anthony slowly gets to his feet inside the ring. Anthony then dives through the ropes and lands a cross body onto Nameless and sends him falling awkwardly against the guard railing. Jeremy Todd then turns and starts putting the boots to Nameless before the monster has a chance to get up.

Ricky Simms - They are fighting out of fear and they know they won't get many openings like this.

Henry Lesher - It's like watching hyenas fight a lion. They have to be smart or they get squashed. I still say they get squashed, but they are trying for the most part.

Jeremy and Anthony pull Nameless to his feet and then both whip him shoulder first into the steel corner post. Anthony Lawrence then rolls Nameless under the bottom rope into the ring before doing the same himself. He then pulls Nameless to the center of the ring and goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Nameless. Anthony pulls Nameless to his corner and tags in Jeremy Todd. The two stand Nameless up, whips him off the ropes and gives him a double dropkick that causes Nameless to fall to one knee, though he doesn't fall down to the mat entirely. Jeremy then lands a series of punches to the head on Nameless even as the monster gets back to his feet. Nameless then blocks a punch and then gives Jeremy a headbutt that sends him down to the mat. Nameless then picks Jeremy up and gives him a power slam to the mat. Anthony yells to Nameless from the corner and Nameless goes towards him, causing Lawrence to jump off the apron and down to the floor.

Ricky Simms - I don't think making him mad is a good idea.

Henry Lesher - Well they are young and they will make mistakes. This could be a career ender though.

Nameless turns back to Jeremy Todd and Todd rolls away from the monster. Nameless picks up his pace, grabs Todd by the hair and pulls him to his feet before giving him a series of knife edge chops which drive him into the corner. He then picks him up for a choke slam only to turn the hold into the Death's Hand. Jeremy taps out immediately and the crowd cheers. Anthony Lawrence slips into the ring while Nameless drops Jeremy to the mat in a heap. He stands over Todd and looks out at the crowd. He then slowly turns towards Anthony Lawrence and holds one hand up. Lawrence skids right out of the ring and starts running up the ramp towards the back.

Ricky Simms - Nameless dominates these kids tonight who will regret calling him out.

Henry Lesher - Well, they did try. If they still have careers after this match, they can try someone less intense than Nameless. That leaves everyone as possibilities for opponents since he is so damned intense.

Shannon Skanes is seen entering the building when he is headed off by Rose Lemieux.

Shannon Skanes - What would you like?

Rose Lemieux - Welcome back. I need to talk to you about Unrated.

Shannon Skanes - The kids who attacked me? I am all ears.

Rose Lemieux - They are stalking me.

Shannon Skanes - I don't doubt that. What would you like to do with that?

Rose Lemieux - I want to tag with you against them at Sunstroke.

Shannon Skanes - Really?

Rose Lemieux - I want to have a chance to take them down before they have a chance to get in my head like Ray Dees did.

Shannon Skanes - I heard you dropped the restraining order. He's outside celebrating with a bottle of beer. He told me that's all he can afford.

Rose Lemieux - He's all class.

Shannon Skanes - He even tried to sell me the half he hadn't drank for less than the price of a full bottle.

Rose Lemieux - That's really classy.

Shannon Skanes - But yeah, sign the match. I'll tag with you then.

Rose smiles, exits and Shannon turns to find Kathy behind him, arms folded across her chest.

Shannon Skanes - What?

Kathy Smith - Interesting tag partner you found there Shannon. It's okay. i already had a Sunstroke match anyway.

Shannon Skanes - What?

Kathy leaves before explaining what match she has or with who. Shannon lowers his head, and makes his way to his office before he can get into any other trouble while we head back to the ring.

Michael Anthony vs. The Moose

"I'm a Bad Man" by Chamillionare plays as Michael Anthony makes his way onto the stage and receives a mixed reaction from the crowd. He tells the camera he is going to defeat a CWA legend tonight before he makes his way down the ramp to ringside. He then does a lap of the ring and pauses at the camera to remind us of how excellent he thinks he is. Michael then pulls himself onto the ring apron and then steps through the ropes into the ring and his music fades before we hear "Where Eagles Dare" by The Misfits and the crowd cheers wildly as The Moose makes his way onto the stage. He smirks as he looks down into the ring at Michael Anthony and then makes his way down the ramp to ringside. Anthony jumps a few times inside the ring and then tests the ropes, anxious to test himself against the hall of fame inductee Moose.

Ricky Simms - Well, this should be interesting.

Henry Lesher - At least Moose will end Slim's reign of terror at Sunstroke.

Moose makes his way up the ring steps onto the apron, steps through the ropes into the ring and then the referee calls for the bell while Michael Anthony steps in and starts hitting Moose with kicks to the ribs. Michael then gives Moose a snap suplex to the mat, stands him up and then gives him a German suplex to the mat, holding his shoulders down for the pin attempt. 1...2... kick out by Moose. Michael then stands Moose up, whips him off the ropes and gives him a clothesline to the mat before landing an elbow smash to the throat on Moose and then he goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out again by Moose. Michael then slaps the mat and tells the referee that he is counting too slowly.

Ricky Simms - Michael wants the quick win in this one.

Henry Lesher - This is another young star well aware that he needs to go above and beyond to get a win he might otherwise not get.

Michael stands Moose up and whips him head first through the ropes and out through the floor. Michael Anthony then steps out onto the ring apron and then jumps down, landing a double axe handle smash to the back on The Moose. Michael then stands Moose up and goes for a whip into the ring steps, but Moose reverses it and sends Anthony into the ring steps instead. Anthony hits the steps shoulder first and then Moose gives him a kick to the ribs before standing him up and rolling him into the ring. Moose then climbs onto the ring apron before stepping through the ropes into the ring. Anthony slowly gets to his feet only to take a vicious punch from Moose that sends him back down to the mat. Moose then lands a knee drop to the chest on Michael before giving him a series of punches to the head. Moose then hooks the leg and goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Michael Anthony.

Ricky Simms - This is where the new guy gets tested. Can he withstand the onslaught from Moose?

Henry Lesher - Well, he has to take a shortcut here or he's going to get buried like so many of Moose's opponents before him.

Moose stands Michael Anthony up, whips him off the ropes and backdrops him to the mat. Moose then goes to the ropes in the corner. He climbs to the second rope and then gives Anthony a flying elbow smash to the chest before he goes for another pin attempt. 1...2... kick out by Michael Anthony. Moose then stands Anthony up, whips him off the ropes and then backdrops him to the mat though Anthony lands on his feet. Anthony then headlocks Moose and gives him a bulldog to the mat and goes for the quick pin. 1...2.. kick out by Moose. Anthony then backs off, gets to his feet and then lands a kick to the gut on Moose before giving him a tilt a whirl backbreaker and he goes for the pin again. 1...2... kick out again by Moose. Anthony then stands Moose up, whips him off the ropes and misses with a clothesline as Moose ducks it and then backslides Anthony into a pin attempt. 1...2... kick out by Moose.

Ricky Simms - It takes a lot to get Moose down for the count.

Henry Lesher - True, though he's not against Nameless or Rated R or Dante here.

Michael Anthony stands Moose up, whips him off the ropes and gives him a kick to the chest that sends him down to the mat. He then goes to the corner and climbs to the top rope. He goes for the flying elbow smash from there, but Moose rolls out of the way and reaches the floor. Michael hits the mat and is visibly angry at having missed the move. He then rolls himself out to the floor after Moose. Michael Anthony stands Moose up and takes an eye gouge from Moose. Moose then knees Michael in the gut and Michael answers with a knee to the gut on Moose and then slams his head into the guard railing. Michael then pulls Moose to his feet only to take a jawbreaker from Moose. Moose then stands Michael up and goes to roll him into the ring when the bell sounds.

Ricky Simms - Steve Miller counted both men out.

Henry Lesher - Well, that's as close as Michael Anthony could have hoped to get to a victory this week.

Moose protests the count out to the referee even as Steve Miller leaves the ring and heads up the ramp. Michael Anthony tells the camera he didn't lose and therefore he feels he is the number one contender, too. The crowd boos the result as well as newcomer Anthony at ringside. He is oblivious as he continues to claim he is now a top contender in this company. He heads up the ramp and we head to the back.

Wyatt Gibson emerges from his office to find Kathy Smith there waiting for him.

Wyatt Gibson - Oh, this is going to be bad, isn't it?

Kathy Smith - I am putting an open challenge to all women on the roster for a shot at my title at Sunstroke in two weeks.

Wyatt Gibson - Well, with it being summertime and all, you going to at least make it summery?

Kathy Smith - *shrugs* What do I care? My husband is tagging with a blond bimbo, so we'll make it a wheel of misfortune gauntlet match.

Wyatt Gibson - A what?

Kathy Smith - Just book it, Wyatt. I'll work on the particulars. It just means every fall will have a different stipulation. I am going to prove I can beat anyone at any type of match.

Wyatt Gibson - I actually like that idea. Looking forward to seeing that.

Kathy nods, walks off and we return to the ring for the main event.

Slim Pickens vs. Vesuvius

"Mein Teil" by Rammstein plays as Vesuvius comes out, dressed in a meat cutter's apron with what we assume to be fake blood on the front of it. He carries a large butcher knife in his right hand as he makes his way down the ramp to ringside, with Athena close behind him and she is dressed all in black, a black gown and black veil covering her face, the fabric made of the kind of leather and lace expected from these two. He hands he the butcher knife and she places it in a makeshift sheath on her side. He takes off the bloody apron and hands it to her before he steps up onto the ring apron and then steps through the ropes into the ring, the crowd cheering him on.

Ricky Simms - That was quite the entrance.

Henry Lesher - Vesuvius has always believed in theatrics. I respect that about him, the showman side of his game.

Vesuvius paces inside the ring while "Showstopper" by Toby Mac plays and CWA champion Slim Pickens makes his way onto the stage. The crowd gives him a warm response as he makes his way down the ramp with Kelli close behind him for this one. He mocks the man inside the ring and laughs at Athena for what she's wearing and then tells the referee that the knife at ringside isn't allowed so near the match. Frank shrugs and tells Slim to get into the ring. Slim pulls himself onto the ring apron and has words with the referee while Vesuvius moves towards both of them. Vesuvius then grabs Slim by the arm and drags him over the top rope into the ring. The referee calls for the bell to officially start the match. Vesuvius stands Slim up and gives him a series of forearm smashes to the jaw which send him into the corner. Vesuvius then gives Slim a hip toss to the mat and then places him in a sleeper hold.

Ricky Simms - Wow, this is insane. Vesuvius has the early edge here.

Henry Lesher - Well, this has a lot to do with Slim being a complete idiot.

Slim refuses to submit when asked by the referee and he reaches out towards the ropes. He then tries to get to his feet, fighting his way through the hold placed on him by the mountain man. Slim then uses his feet to snag the bottom rope and that forces the break. Vesuvius releases the hold and then Slim uses the ropes to get to his feet before he then turns and kicks Vesuvius in the gut before he then gives Vesuvius a bulldog to the mat. Slim then goes to the ropes in the corner and then climbs to the second rope. He jumps from the second rope and lands an elbow to the back on Vesuvius. He then gives Vesuvius a side Russian leg sweep to the mat and then goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Vesuvius. Slim then rolls Vesuvius to the ropes and then places his throat over the top rope and chokes him with it.

Ricky Simms - This is turning into a brawl which should favor the champion.

Henry Lesher - You mean Slim? You are calling Slim a champion? Slim? Slim Pickens? A champion? Slim?

Ricky Simms - Okay, let it go.

Slim releases the choke before the referee can reach a five count and then stands Vesuvius up, whips him off the ropes and then gives him a running shoulder block that brings him back down to the mat. Slim then goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Vesuvius. Slim then stands Vesuvius up, whips him into the corner buckle and then goes for another running shoulder tackle, but catches a knee to the face from Vesuvius instead. Vesuvius then gives Slim a Rock Bottom to the mat and then goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Slim Pickens. Vesuvius then stands Slim up, whips him into the corner buckle and then gives him a series of shoulder blocks while the fans are torn on who they are cheering for. Slim then knees Vesuvius in the chest and follows that up by ramming Vesuvius' head into the corner buckle. Slim then gives Vesuvius an impressive side suplex to the mat and both men lie on the mat for a few moments as the fans cheer. Slim rolls onto his stomach and starts to push himself to his feet.

Ricky Simms - Well, these two are really punishing each other in this one.

Henry Lesher - This is wrestling right?

Slim gets to his feet and stands over Vesuvius, catching his breath. He then places the big man in a headlock and sets for a DDT. Vesuvius instead raises up and gives Slim a backdrop to the mat. Vesuvius then retreats to the corner and gets into a three point stance. Slim slowly gets to his feet and Vesuvius charges at him. Slim side steps the charge of Vesuvius and whips him shoulder first into the corner, his shoulder impacting against the steel corner post as a result. Slim then gives Vesuvius an atomic drop and then follows that up with a kick to the back and then a roll up into a school boy for a pin attempt. 1...2... kick out by Vesuvius and this draws cheers from Athena at ringside as well as his fans. Kelli shouts something to Athena from across the ring and the two women start to argue. Slim has a few harsh words for Athena, then pulls Vesuvius to his feet and sets for a vertical suplex only to have Vesuvius block it. Vesuvius then gives Slim a vertical suplex to the mat instead. Vesuvius then stands Slim up while arguing with Kelli, then gives Slim a series of forearm smashes to the jaw which back him into the corner buckle nearest to Kelli.

Ricky Simms - The men are arguing with the respective women at ringside.

Henry Lesher - I don't respect those women.

Vesuvius whips Slim to the opposite corner and then charges in for a shoulder block. Slim side steps that and slams Vesuvius' head into the corner buckle before giving him an inverted neckbreaker to the mat and then he goes for the pin. 1...2... Vesuvius gets a foot on the bottom rope out of sight from the referee. 3! The referee missed the call and Slim gets the victory. Athena immediately jumps onto the ring apron and starts to argue with the referee regarding the count. She points to Vesuvius' feet and explains one was on the bottom rope. Kelli makes her ay around the ring and then pulls Athena off the rng apron, starting a brawl between the two ladies as security comes out to break them up.

Ricky Simms - Well, Slim gets a controversial win, but they all mean the same thing. He has momentum heading into Sunstroke and the fans are going to see a great main event when he clashes with The Moose.

Henry Lesher - He got a break there, for sure. It won't happen the next time he meets Vesuvius.

Slim heads out of the ring, takes Kelli by the arm and leads the screaming woman out of the fray and up the ramp with his title belt in hand. He tells the camera that he is the best there is and he'll prove it again at Sunstroke. We fade to black on an image of Slim on stage with the title belt over his head, his still screaming lady at his side.
